On April 2nd each year we join in the celebrations for World Autism Awareness day, and this year Autism Together had planned a whole month of celebrations for everyone to get involved in.

Unfortunately, due to the current situation regarding coronavirus, and taking into account government advice, all our events for April have now been cancelled or postponed.

This includes our Easter Trail event on April 5th at Port Sunlight River Park. Those that have purchased tickets have been notified and will receive their refunds shortly. In the meantime, the River Park will remain open for fresh air and exercise.

We had planned to visit schools across the region to spread autism awareness and acceptance. Understandably that will not now be possible, but we do plan to reschedule those school visits when the time is right.

Similarly, any fundraisers we and our supporters had planned – from bake sales to sponsored events like the London Marathon – can hopefully go ahead later in the year.

However, we will not let this dampen our spirits and we would love for you to still feel involved and help celebrate autism acceptance. We’ll be sharing ways in which we can do that on our social media platforms over the coming weeks.

Thanks for your ongoing support. It is truly appreciated, across our entire organisation.
