A replica of a WWI biplane, created by students at Wirral Autistic Society’s Community and Voluntary Service (CVS), has landed at the Wilfred Owen Story, Argyle Street, Birkenhead.

The biplane is constructed using recycled cardboard with excerpts of Owen’s poignant and moving poetry used as decoration, the model is complimented by a exhibition of students work.

Dave Smith, CVS Manager, said “Our students were really engaged developing themes based round history, both local and national. We are delighted to have our students work displayed at the Wilfred Owen Story and strengthen our links within the community”.

The exhibition is on display until January 2013 and the Wilfred Owen Story is open Tuesday – Friday 11.00am – 2.00pm. Entry is free.
