Progress to Excellence donates £10,000 to Autism Together

A year of fundraising efforts by Progress to Excellence Ltd has resulted in almost £10,000 being donated to Autism Together.

Staff from Progress to Excellence Ltd, a national training provider whose head office is in Birkenhead Wirral, nominated Autism Together as their official Charity of the Year for 2017.

The 12-month fundraising programme ranged from fitness challenges to individual staff initiatives, festive fun days and a donation from the company’s charity budget, with all money raised going towards Autism Together’s respite appeal to build additional units onto a vital facility at The Ferns respite unit at Raby Hall.

CEO of Autism Together, Robin Bush, said: “Hats off to the staff at Progress to Excellence.  They took up the fundraising challenge with real gusto. They’ve been fantastic, supportive partners. It’s been great to get to know the team and we’re grateful for everything they did to help us during 2017.”

Damian Burdin, Chief Executive at Progress to Excellence Ltd, said: “Having Autism Together as our nominated charity for 2017 was the unanimous choice of all our staff who have over the years known of the great work being done by the charity through various partnership training initiatives. With our culture of giving back to the community, everyone threw themselves wholeheartedly into a year of innovative fundraising and volunteering.”

The staff at Progress to Excellence Ltd certainly seemed to get to their feet – with two of their members completing the Chester Marathon with only seven weeks’ training. Daniel Templeton and Raheese Tempest-Mitchell trained for 4-5 days a week to get ready in time for the event, and managed to raise £350 between them.

Raheese Tempest-Mitchell, Quality Coordinator at Progress to Excellence Ltd said: “I have family members who benefit from the service which Autism Together provides, so when the opportunity presented itself to get involved and do my part for our Charity of the Year, it was an easy choice.”

Daniel Templeton, MIS Administrator, added: “I wanted to get involved and do my part for our Charity of the Year to help support their good work. After going on a tour of their facilities early on in the year, I saw first-hand what the money would go to and how it would help families affected by autism.”

“Hats off to the staff at Progress to Excellence.  They took up the fundraising challenge with real gusto. They’ve been fantastic, supportive partners. It’s been great to get to know the team and we’re grateful for everything they did to help us during 2017.”
