Here’s the latest update from Hannah and Claire who are almost half-way through their 500-mile fundraising trek!

The two Autism Together staff members are currently walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail from southern France, through the Pyrenees mountains, and ending in northern Spain.

It sounds like the weather has been unrelenting, as they write: “We have now covered 233 miles! We are now on day 2 of going across the Meseta, it has been long days with no shade.

“We have seen some amazing views and met other pilgrims from all around the world. Speak soon, Hannah and Claire.”

The Meseta are large, hot, flat fields between Burgos and Leon. This section is very hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. Some people choose to skip this part of the Camino, but they miss out on some beautiful open landscapes and awesome skies.

Thanks as always to the girls for the update. Safe travels.
