Liverpool launches ambition to be one of first autism-friendly cities Liverpool Autism Champions include Everton FC, Liverpool John Lennon airport, National Museums Liverpool. Autism campaigners in Liverpool are spearheading a national movement to make the UK more autism friendly.  They want Liverpool to become one of the UK's first autism-friendly cities. 

Autism Champions Scheme Launched in North West

We want people with autism to feel welcome when they visit us. That's the message from a group of iconic North West organisations which have signed up to be Autism Champions under a new Department of Health-backed scheme called Connect to Autism. Chester Zoo, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Liverpool Museums, the AJ Bell Stadium and others have promised to train their staff in autism awareness and to offer a supportive work environment to staff members with autism.

Iain Duncan Smith Is a Big Hit with Residents at New Home for People with Autism

Iain Duncan Smith, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, made a surprise visit yesterday (28 April) to Wirral Autistic Society's newly opened £1m home for people with severe autism at Raby Hall in Bromborough - and was so popular with residents that they welcomed him into their kitchen to help cook dinner.
