One of our long term supporters, Vera Gibson, went to a family funeral recently in Allerton, Liverpool. The reception was held near a children’s playground and Vera told her niece, Elizabeth, she would love to have a go at the slide. Elizabeth took her at her word and went a step further by asking everyone at the funeral reception to sponsor Aunty Vera!!
The whole funeral party took it in the spirit it was intended and raised £135 for the challenge which Vera kindly increased to £150.
With supporters like Vera and her family around fundraising is definitely fun and that’s exactly how it should be!!!
When Vera and Jack celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary they had a Service at Woodchurch Parish Church and asked for donations for autism in lieu of presents and raised over £2000.
