‘Autism friendly’ screenings of films for youngsters have  begun at the Light Cinema – on New Brighton’s waterfront.

Wirral Autistic Society have been supported by the cinema  for some time, having staged a live fund-raising concert by local bands and have adopted our Lifetime Appeal to fund much-needed purpose built accommodation for clients, they are alos hoping to take on one of our client’s through our Step Into Work scheme.

The first special screening for autism sufferers and their families has just been shown, involving softer sound and lighting. Films for youngsters will be shown once a month and the cinema is now looking at introducing adult films in the same format.
