Wirral Autistic Society have launched an online forum, aimed at invited guests who are involved with the Society. The forum, called WAS-IS, was launched at Oak House, on Friday 22nd March, with clients of it’s CVS, Step into Work and Supported Living services. This online community is for friendly, supportive discussion of  topics suggested by members themselves.

Dianne Asher, Chief Executive, said “It’s great to see how technology can play a really positive role in the way our clients can develop their communication and social interaction skills. We hope this will be a valuable resource.”
Despite the snowy weather, which made traveling conditions very difficult, members of our Step into Work, Supported Living and CVS groups were given an introduction and demonstration of how to use the forum by Dave Smith, CVS Manager.

Dave Smith said “It is essential that new technology is encouraged and embraced within our services and the WAS-IS forum is one of many developments we are working with.”

The forum is currently for invited guests with the intention of it being rolled out on a broader scale once an evaluation process has taken place.
