As part of a week long look at our new residential care setting, being built at Raby Hall, Radio Merseyside interviewed Becky Whelan.

Becky, mum to Thomas, a 23 year-old resident at Raby Hall, spoke to Jimmy McCracken of BBC Radio Merseyside about Thomas’s life and unique needs and how Raby Hall has helped him – and how the new build will improve his quality of life.

Later on in the week  Jimmy takes a tour of the building site with Rick Myers, WAS fundraising officer. And they visit the Ferns, the newly built respite centre, to learn about some of the state-of-the-art features to be incorporated into the new build.

The coverage finishes at the end of the week when Robin Bush, Chief Executive, appears live on the breakfast show talking about the unique needs of people on the severe end of the autistic spectrum and why the high-tech new build is necessary.
