Fundraising Officer Rick Myers brings you up to date with the Lifetime Appeal and some exciting news of activities in May.
Join us for our May fundraising events!
In February we launched our Lifetime Appeal to raise £755k to build an eight-bedded home at our Raby site. The launch was held at Eaton Park, the home of our President, the Duke of Westminster and was attended by supporters, old and new, including Dame Lorna Muirhead, Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside; The Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral, Councillor Gerry Ellis and Mrs Margaret Ellis; Montse Benitez and representatives of her Foundation and our inspirational guest speaker for the evening, Mrs Fiona Castle.
With a range of events planned and organisations pledging their support, this year promises to be an extremely busy and, of course, a successful one.
The first event for the Lifetime Appeal was on Friday 15th March at the Queen’s Royal Hotel in New Brighton with an Antiques Roadshow with celebrity auctioneer John Crane hosting. An evening of free evaluations followed by an auction with some food and live entertainment thrown in for good measure.
The evening raised £2,666 for the appeal with thanks to West Wallasey Car Hire for their generous sponsorship.
May is going to be a very busy month for fundraising with four events planned.
