Social Enterprise

Autism Together creates real work opportunities through a range of different services focused on individual progress and experience. Our social enterprise activities include Bromborough Pool Garden Centre where the people we support can volunteer to help with the day-to-day running of a busy garden centre and coffee shop. Our Woodworking and Ceramics departments create hand-crafted products to sell at the Garden Centre, while our Landscaping Team works across Wirral showcasing their gardening skills.

Bromborough Pool Garden Centre

In our garden centre, we help the people we support to recognise, nurture and maintain a wide range of plants and flowers.

Our cafe and retail area is a training resource which offers autistic people real work experience. The skills learnt are of industry standard, promoting teamwork and communication, money handling and stock checks, along with hygiene, health and safety, and social skills.

The cafe area offers customers a friendly and personal service from the till to the table. The menu offers a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, toasties, cakes and more, plus a meal deal for children.

The retail area stocks a variety of plants, flowers, gardening products and seasonal gifts, including wooden and ceramic items created by the talented people we support.

Within this facility, our main focus is on supporting autistic adults towards learning new skills, participation and achievement. The people we support at the garden centre and cafe are volunteering alongside a team of our dedicated staff.

Our autistic volunteers are offered genuine job experience, working both front of house and behind the scenes, whether that is interacting with the public, handling money, serving customers, stock takes or general cleaning and tidying.

To keep up to date with our offers on plants, gifts, or food and drink, along with any special events happening, please visit our dedicated Bromborough Pool Garden Centre Facebook page.

Woodwork

Our Woodworking department is based in Bromborough and offers the people we support the chance to work with their hands to create a range of unique projects.

The autistic adults who access this service create items such as garden planters, bird boxes and even garden furniture, which are then sold in our garden centre. All the profits are ploughed back into the organisation to help improve our services.

The items are created by the people we support through the unique systems and strategies put together by our support teams, enabling each individual to carry out all the stages of construction as independently as possible.

Each activity and task offered within the social enterprise is specific, person-centred, realistic and measurable.

In addition, the people we support can work towards a range of ASDAN awards which recognise their achievements through meaningful certification once complete.

Landscaping Services

Our landscaping department undertakes a variety of gardening services, from one-off projects to regular maintenance contracts, including the management of gardens and green areas throughout our organisation.

The department also operates within the local community and all work is undertaken by the people we support alongside a dedicated staff team.

This work offers the people we support hands-on work experience, helping them to build new skills alongside confidence, self-esteem and a sense of achievement.

We have a range of current support worker vacancies and can offer flexible opportunities throughout the week, or weekly shifts.

Based in several locations across Wirral and Cheshire, we are committed to delivering the best autism support available.
