Throughout August, we’re challenging children to take on The Big Shh! and see how long they can stay quiet during the school holidays…
This is a fun summer activity for children to get involved in, and by asking people to sponsor them for keeping quiet we’re encouraging them to raise vital funds for Autism Together too.
Parents, this is a great chance for you to enjoy an hour of calm, so encourage your kids to take part and start getting sponsored today.
While we’re mainly aiming it at children, the challenge is open to anyone wanting to take part.
There is a serious side to The Big Shh! too. We want to encourage children to think about those who have difficulty communicating verbally and imagine what it might be like not to be able to use speech whenever you want to communicate.
During August we’re going to be sharing some easy Makaton signs for kids to learn and practice while doing The Big Shh!. Taking part in the challenge can help children understand how hard it can be for those who find it difficult or are unable to communicate through speech.
We’re asking people to sign up via our website to take part and receive a fundraising pack, by clicking here: www.autismtogether.co.uk/the-big-shh/
