We’re autism friendly! Wagamama and Funtime Mascots celebrate their autism-friendly status

Six organisations from across Merseyside met last week to receive formal recognition of their Autism Champion status.

They join more than 40 Autism Champions – organisations big and small across the region – which have made an ongoing commitment to train their staff in autism awareness.

Each has received autism training from our Autism Training and Advisory Service and made a commitment to be welcoming to people on the spectrum and their families.

The organisations newly welcomed to the scheme are: The Hive Youth Zone in Birkenhead, United Utilities, RSA Motability Group, Wagamama at New Mersey Retail Park and Funtime Mascots.

And Everton FC, one of our scheme’s first Autism Champions, was confirmed as one of the region’s first official Autism Ambassadors. This means staff at the football club have received training so that they can deliver autism awareness sessions to more of their own colleagues.
