Sponsor a Turkey

There’s more to turkeys than a famous staple of Christmas dinner. These large game birds originate from North America and are actually related to pheasants and grouse.

Before the 20th century, turkey was a luxury item on the seasonal menu, with goose and beef more common. With turkey farming becoming more common over the past 100 years, it’s not been uncommon to see turkeys join chickens and ducks as general farmyard birds or even pets, with domestic turkeys living up to 10 years.

Our resident turkeys joined our farm in 2024. They are all female and have settled in really well, each displaying their own quirky personalities!
