Neil Murphy (Activity Manager) discussing the work we have carried out as part of our ongoing project with Wirral Rangers Service at Wirral Country Park in Thurstaston, with Kevin Mulligan (Service Manager) looking on.

On Thursday 11th June 2015, Neil Murphy and Kevin Mulligan form the Community Health and Well-being team had a great opportunity to meet with the Wirral Borough Council Chief Executive, Eric Robinson, for a tour of our work at Thurstaston.

Neil and Kevin took Eric on a guided tour of the projects service users have been working on, such as; Picnic by the Pond, Glacial Rock Project, BBQ’s for All and the Pond Access Project.

Eric was very impressed with the progress service users have made over the past 2 years and with the positive impact these projects were having, offering everyone in the community the opportunity to experience the formerly difficult to access areas of the Wirral Country Park at Thurstaston.

Mr Robinson commented “I was impressed by the work to make the park accessible for all visitors and to promote this superb local asset.”

Neil Murphy, Manager, Health and Well Being said “It was a delight to welcome Wirral Council’s Chief Executive today and for the hard work of our dedicated team and our service users to be recognised and appreciated by Eric and the thousands of visitors to Wirral Country Park”.
