“Holding our fun day at the Tranmere ground is an extension of our partnership with the club.”

For the first time, Wirral-based Autism Together will be holding its summer Family Fun Day at Tranmere Rovers FC.  The event takes place on Saturday 16 July from 12 midday to 5pm.

Last year the football club officially partnered with Autism Together to become an Autism Champion.  Key staff have been trained in autism awareness and families affected by the condition are made to feel welcome at the ground.

The annual fun day is a big fundraiser for Autism Together and an opportunity for community members to have fun whilst learning more about autism.  The charity’s fundraising events officer, Rick Myers, said, “Holding our fun day at the Tranmere ground is an extension of our partnership with the club.  They were one of our inaugural Autism Champions and are being fantastically supportive. We hope that their high profile locally will help us have our best summer fun day to date.”

Visitors will be able to enjoy a wide variety of events and activities from shopping at craft stalls, to football-based games.  There will be live music, group dance sessions, fairground rides and food and drink.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the building of additional rooms at The Ferns, Autism Together’s autism-specific respite unit which is high demand from families across the North West.
