“It was great to see so many supporters and we would like to thank everybody who came to the Car Boot sale and visited the Garden Centre. We are hoping to get another event in the pipeline which will hopefully be as successful, if not more, than our first!”

Lindsay Tilston-Jones, fundraising manager

Autism Together’s first car boot sale was a huge success last weekend, seeing over 200 visitors coming to grab a bargain and help raise over £145 for the charity.

With a relaxed, autism-friendly atmosphere there was no pressure to buy, and ample space to move and withdraw to think, with one individual on the spectrum hosting his own stall with the help of staff support.

With the threat of rain at bay, sellers and visitors enjoyed the large array of items for sale, from clothes to crafts. One stall featured exclusive Tranmere Rovers memorabilia, with another featuring a signed Everton FC shirt. The Garden Centre was also well attended throughout the event, with their BBQ Breakfast a huge hit and in high demand. The car boot gave visitors the opportunity to explore our Garden Centre – with many plants and fixtures being sold.

Visitors have already enquired when the next car boot will take place, with some getting in touch to comment on the great venue and coffee shop. We are hoping to get another event in the pipeline which will hopefully be as successful, if not more, than our first!
