Wirral Autistic Society has expanded its services into Cheshire for the first time.

To celebrate the official opening of Weatherstones Court, Willaston, which provides a supported living service for 15 people with autism, Councillor Jill Houlbrook, Chairman of Cheshire West & Chester Council, assisted by Andrew Miller, MP for Ellesmere Port & Neston, planted a tree at the premises last Thursday (July 25).

Dianne Asher, Chief Executive of the society, said: “The project represents excellent partnership working between the property owners, Mr and Mrs Morton; the landlords BeST Housing (Bespoke Supportive Tenancies Ltd), Cheshire West & Chester authority and the society and will provide an excellent opportunity for people with autism to live an ordinary life in the community supported by their specialist staff.”

The society already employs more than 700 people and a further 50 jobs have been created with the opening of Weatherstones Court.
